As I step away from my role at Bio Nebraska, and with it my role as Co-Director of Nebraska Women in STEM, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude and the profound impact that this work has made on me both personally and professionally.
It has been an incredible honor to help grow this initiative, from the early days of shaping Bio Nebraska’s commitment to women in STEM to partnering with Amanda McGill Johnson and Nebraska Cures to commission the “Listen Than Act” study that laid the foundation for all that Nebraska Women in STEM has become today.

To everyone who I’ve met through this work, thank you for sharing your stories. I’ve been endlessly inspired by your resilience, your determination, and commitment to the work you devote so much of your lives to. It has been a privilege to hear what you’ve overcome to get to where you are today, and to witness where you’re heading next. To have had the opportunity to play even just a small role in your journey is something I will cherish and always carry with me.
Thank you to Rob Owen and Bio Nebraska for putting your trust in me to move this work forward. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have led this initiative as part of our mission at Bio Nebraska to grow and foster Nebraska’s bioscience industry. Thank you to Amanda, the best partner one could ask for, not to mention an incredible leader to this community and beyond. Thank you to our Advisory Committee, who has helped guide and empower us to forge ahead. Thank you to the Conference Committee, for without you the conference would not be what it has become. And to all of you that have supported Nebraska Women in STEM and showed up to be a part of our events, you have shared your energy, wisdom, and passion with us, and it has been such an honor to witness the magic that can be created when you bring people together.
While my role may be changing, my support for Nebraska Women in STEM is unwavering. I will not be a stranger, and I look forward to seeing the continued evolution of this incredible initiative that we’ve built together.
Please feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn, and stay in touch. I can’t wait to see what’s next for you all.
Sincerely,
Sasha Forsen
